Conference Update: COVID-19 

 

 To Our NIPA Community-
 
After significant time, energy and evaluation, the NIPA Board of Directors has decided to postpone the 2020NAFE, which will now take place August 9-12, 2020 at the JW Marriott in Nashville. Ultimately, protecting our attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and staff is our top priority, especially in these complex and quickly changing times.
 
Many of us look forward to this event every year—it’s a valuable source of insight that helps to elevate the work we do and it is what brings our community together. The conference continues to be a cornerstone of NIPA’s community. Even more now, we need our community to rally around the new conference dates to ensure its success and our organization’s long-term viability. 
 
With this shift in timing, I know that you may have questions about next steps and how this impacts you and your organization. Our conference staff has put together answers for many of the most anticipated questions and those FAQs are shared below. If you have any other questions or concerns not covered below, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at nipa@nipa.org.
 
While we are disappointed that we won’t be gathering in Nashville next month, we are grateful for your continued support of the 2020NAFE, the NIPA community and our WP&BC partners. Frequently Asked Questions


 
Why has the conference been postponed?
The decision was made to protect the health, safety and well-being of our attendees and staff in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. It goes without saying that this is a decision that was not entered into lightly, especially in this highly complex environment. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and patience.
 
Do I need to re-register for the new dates?
All existing conference registrations will be automatically transferred to the new conference dates. Should you wish to update or change your conference registration, please contact nipa@nipa.org or call 800.999.NIPA (6472). Over the coming weeks, we will be working diligently to manage the many critical steps needed to reschedule an event of this scope. We also anticipate a high volume of calls and emails from our attendees, and we appreciate your patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries.
 
What about flight and travel arrangements?
All attendees should contact their airlines/travel insurance to learn more about cancelling or transferring their flights to Nashville. 
 
How do I cancel my hotel reservation(s)?
Reservations made directly into the NAFE block at the JW Marriott Nashville will be automatically canceled and fully refunded. If you made reservations outside of the NIPA room block with the hotel or through a third party, like Expedia or Travelocity, please make sure you cancel those yourself. If in doubt, please call the hotel directly to confirm your cancellation at (615) 291-8600.
 
Can I rebook my hotel reservations for the new NAFE dates?
We ask for your patience to allow the JW Marriott Nashville to properly reset our dates. We will be in touch shortly with full details.
 
Will the event change now that it’s been postponed?
We remain committed to delivering a great event and are working with the NAFE Committee and speakers to re-confirm schedules and make any necessary adjustments to the conference programming. More details on educational sessions will be available soon.
