APA Designation Benefits

By earning your APA designation, you'll gain comprehensive insight into the knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform daily administrative tasks, including determining eligibility, allocating contributions, fulfilling reporting and disclosure requirements, processing distributions, performing compliance testing, correcting errors and much more.


Earning the APA Designation 

To earn the APA designation, students must successfully complete four APA exams. The APA 1 and APA 3 exams are unproctored and can be taken from your home or work computer during any of NIPA's testing windows. The APA 2 and APA 4 exams are proctored and must be taken at a Webassessor testing center during any of NIPA's testing windows.

Maintaining the APA Designation

To maintain the designation, you must complete 15 hours of continuing professional education and hold a current NIPA membership at the Business Owner or Executive level (annually).
