Do you have questions that only a retirement professional may know? Do you feel like you haven’t received responses quick enough in the past? Depending on your urgency and the nature of your question, a member of the NIPA LinkedIn group will be able to help you. The responses are often quick as it’s a social media function that many participants can view on their mobile devices or on their work or home computers. Someone may have the same question, too, so never hesitate to get the conversation going.
For example, perhaps you want to know more about IRS SEP model plans. In a recent post titled "IRS SEP model plans do not allow another plan in the same plan year," Cathy Green, CPC, ERPA, asks "Does anyone have access to a SEP doc without that requirement? I believe it is allowed but most SEPs use the IRS model plan.”
Neil Plein posts another conversation titled "How does a participant determine what to contribute into a target date fund in order to reach their retirement goals?” He further explores this idea: "Participants get clarity on what they need to contribute to reach their retirement goals from their retirement calculators. These calculators work from the participant entering a "target rate of return;” what would they enter in this case if they owned a target date fund with a changing asset allocation over time?”
